RDX - Innovation
Removable Disk Technology
RDX is a removable disk technology that handles and operates easily and has all of the advantages of disk-to-disk (D2D) systems. The RDX removable disk solution allows for backups to be accomplished in traditional fashions or data can be dragged and dropped directly to the removable storage media. To the host computer, the RDX removable disk cartridge operates just like a removable tape cartridge.
Simplify and Consolidate
IT departments may simplify and consolidate their Tier-2 back-up and Tier-3 archiving requirements by standardizing on RDX removable disk technology. RDX drives may handle data back-up and be sent for archive as part of data retention and corporate compliance policies. In addition, since RDX solutions are based on standard 2.5 inch disk drive media, RDX storage makes is an ideal solution for low-cost disaster recovery for small and medium businesses (SMBs) and remote or branch offices (ROBOs) of larger organizations.
Speeds Data Backup and Recovery
Designed to protect and archive digital data and quickly retrieve data, RDX removable disk technology consists of a removable disk cartridge and an RDX dock. The RDX cartridge is designed for portability with a mobile 2.5-inch hard disk drive suspended in a shock-proof cartridge that meets drop test requirements of 39 inches (1 meter) onto a tiled or concrete floor without damage. The media operates like a tape drive and once inserted into the RDX dock, sustains up to 45 MB per second average sustained data transfer rates and backs up more than 100 gigabytes of data in an hour. RDX technology combines the best characteristics of other storage media with disk storage to bring you removeability, portability, low cost, reliability, fast data transfer rates and instant file retrieval.
