RDX Storage Alliance Names Karl Chen Executive Director

Storage Industry Veteran Advances RDX Community

Broomfield, CO― PRWeb ―October  13, 2009 - The RDX Storage Alliance™ (www.RDXstorage.com) today announced the appointment of Karl Chen as Executive Director of the RDX Storage Alliance.  The RDX Storage Alliance is a non-profit association of storage industry leaders dedicated to supporting the community of storage customer and IT professionals responsible for implementation of data protection, retention, archive, and recovery strategies. Karl possesses more than 25 years of experience in IT Technology strategy and business management. He specializes in distributed systems, storage, enterprise software and virtualization. He has successfully built and contributed to selling two entrepreneurial businesses including LeftHand Networks, which was acquired by HP for $360M in November, 2008 and NuViewManageX, which was acquired in 1997.

“Having worked with Karl in the past, I know the strength of leadership and breadth of knowledge he will bring to the RDX Storage Alliance,” said Steve Georgis, General Manager of the ProStor RDX business. “Karl’s unique combination of IT Technology strategy, business management and entrepreneurial leadership are the key qualities we were seeking in an Executive Director. We are very fortunate he has agreed to lead this initiative,” Mr. Georgis continued.

Mr. Chen’s former roles include vice president of Business Development at LeftHand Networks, vice president of Marketing at BMC Software, vice president of Business Development and Marketing at NuView Inc., and senior management positions at Dell, Hewlett-Packard, Compaq and Digital Equipment Corp.
